- Marlie loves playing with our dog Butters. Her idea of playing is kind of rough though. It consists of her smacking him in the face and pulling his tail, which is what she does to us (except the tail pulling part). It's time to teach her gentle touch.
- She has discovered the velcro tabs on her diaper covers and is pulling them open. I'm thrilled.
- She has become very curious about body parts. She has been sticking her fingers in my eyes, nose, mouth, and ears. I am one good jab away from becoming a cyclops.
- Her latest disturbing habit is gnawing the wood off the headboard of her crib like some kind of deranged, mutant beaver, woodchuck, or wood pecker. see photo:Don't the scratches look like the hatch marks prisoners carve on their cell walls to count down the days until their release? Seriously though. I don't like the idea of her ingesting treated wood (varnish, formaldehyde, who knows what else?), but I don't know how to get her to stop sharpening her teeth on her crib.
- No giveaway wins this week. I'm not too disappointed. I've been channeling my mojo into my job hunt. I have a lead on a part-time communications job with a social venture company. It's a social media charitable project, it's flexible hours, it's right up my alley! Wish me luck.
- As you read this I'll be up in the air with Marlie en route to Miami to visit my family or we will have already landed. Either way, we are out of town and on break from blogging this week. I know you'll miss me, but I left a cool giveaway for you to enter.
Baby Log: Week 34

Last week I forgot to tell you about how Marlie's paper-eating habit came back to bite her in the butt...literally. She had eaten some newspaper at the cafe and I found it in her poop the next day (yes, I do examine her poop)! I know I have to get used to her excreting the crap that she swallows when she craps, but I'm still grossed out. I'll let that mental picture marinate for a sec. Okay! On to this week in the life of Her Royal Highness the Baroness von Poopoopeeshire...

I will miss you!!!!
I'm happy that you will get to visit family. I hope you have a great time.
I can't believe she is eating so much of her crib. Alyssa laughed and said, "Oh great, she's just like my puppy." LOL
Paloma both gnaws on her crib and eats paper. I have found it in her diaper at least once. The worst thing she ever ate, though, was a tiny baby bandaid that fell off of one of her little friends when no one was looking. Found that in her diaper, too. Ick.
Awww, look pon putus! Have a safe and wonderful journey in Little Jamaica (aka Miami)! We'll be right here waiting when you get back!
The teeth marks on the crib are killing me!! Too damn funny ; ) BTW is she wearing an amber teething necklace? Trying to debate getting one for Cedella, does it work?
Also, the newspaper in the poop had me literally crying I was laughing so hard!
Have a beautiful trip to Miami and enjoy the sunshine!
The teeth marks are hysterical!
My daughter used to eat paper...wait...she's 2 and still eats paper. Stickers. Tissue paper for wrapping...and both my kids used to gnaw on their board books and try to eat pieces off them.
Have a safe trip!
Whenever my kids started undoing their diapers, I would put the diapers on backwards. Not sure how that will work with cloth diapers as I usually give up on cloth by the time they get to that stage (normally more like age 18-24 months) because their poop gets so disgusting that the smell never comes out, no matter what I wash their diapers with. (Meaning that Marlie is advanced in her diaper tab undoing skills, doesn't that make you proud!) Good luck with the job and have a nice trip!
Hey lady! Thanks for the tip on the Baltic amber! Gonna find one. Also, for when you get back, I gave you an Honest Scrap award. Check it out:

Poop never lies. Thank God for digestion
LOL Deranged, mutant beaver. That is hilarious! I seriously can't believe the damage she did! Wow! Hope you had a good time in Miama!
I have been such a terrible cyber Auntie. I haven't been by much and I'm SO sorry! :0(
I can't really think of anything to say except to tell you over and over how absolutely beautiful and adorable little Miss Marlie is! (Oh, and if you ever decide you need to get rid of her, I'll give you my address. :0) I also can't believe how fast she's growing! It seems like she was just born and now we aren't too terribly far from her first birthday! My, oh, my, the time does pass so quickly! She is just so gorgeous!
Well, I hope you and your sweet family are doing well. I'm always thinking about you and your precious family and I'm praying for you now.
