Aloha from Pensacola! Marlie and Me decided to take a quickie break from our vacation to say hi.
The trip started out as a nightmare that included a canceled flight due to a storm (mind you that it hasn't rained in NE Texas for eons), multiple delays in our rerouted flight to Mobile, a bumpy plane ride, my checked bag and Marlie's cars seat being left behind, getting the last crappy rental car on the lot when we finally landed around 10:00 pm, a two-hour car drive to Florida on an unfamiliar scenic highway in the middle night (translation: dark and scary), having to stop as soon as we set out because Marlie is having a meltdown from the long trip.
BUT we did arrive safe and sound. AND is has been nothing but a dream since we got here. The beach at Perdido Key is aquamarine waters and pearly white sand. It's almost like being in the Caribbean!
Marlie's first trip to the beach has been a priceless experience. She ate lots of sand and loved getting in the ocean...she is a real water baby! She loves falling asleep to the sound of the crashing waves at night. (We need to move the beach!)
Above all else, it's been great for Marlie to hang out with family. She adores her big cousin Lennon. They play together all day long...tea party is one of their favorite games. When she isn't playing Marlie is on someone's lap, usually her granny's. I promise to post pictures on Wednesday.
As for me, I've been sleeping like it's going out of style. That's what I call a vacation!
Happy Labor Day Weekend! Come back rested...I know I will!

Wow! Sounds lovely! I'm in Southern California right now with 4/5 kids and no hubby (long story but kiddo #3 and hubby ended up staying home). We just flew in today and it was a long day after we fought the traffic from LA. We're here and V is loving seeing her grandparents. It's the first time that she has been willing to socialize with them and they are as pleased as punch. I hope you can continue to have fun and sleep! "See" you soon!
I'm glad you got there safely and are enjoying the beach. Sounds like fun. LOL about sleeping like it's going out of style. I guess it's good to have family around to help out too. I love get-togethers like that with family--they are priceless! Hopefully trip back is less eventful :)
Well, crappy start but it sounds wonderful!
Have a great time!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, I wish I were with you! :0) It has been such a long time since I've been to the beach. I would love to go to sleep listening to the waves hit the shore. I hope you all continue to have a truly wonderful time. I can't wait to see the pics!
Be safe traveling home!

I am sure Marlie is having a blast with her family. I hope you got lots of beach pictures, they are always fun.
Good for you for getting sleep!
Sounds truly wonderful. Enjoy all those chances for sleep. A tea party with Marlie must be fun!
OMG I've actually been researching Perdido Key all day! I hope you write about your stay and post pics. It's at the top og my list for beach vacay next summer. I've been looking at the beachfront condos.
This sounds like so much fun and I'm glad y'all made it through a nightmare travel experience.
Good for you getting some rest. I never realize how tired I am until I get the opportunity to sleep 9 hours and take total advantage of it LOL.
I'm so glad you all had the opportunity to get away and be with family. The family trips with your child will be burned in your memory. I remember one trip in particular with Alyssa so clearly that it literally was like yesterday...literally. Marlie is so cute and already loves you so much! Isn't motherhood just the best?
