- Humankind. Just when I think the human race is doomed to suffer the fate of self-destruction, something happens to restore my faith in my fellow human being. In the aftermath of the quake/tsunami in Japan I saw proud resilience in the faces of the Japanese people and some incredible efforts to help. - The Karate Kid 2010. I finally watched in on Monday when I saw it in my Netflix Instant Watch library. I must be the last person on Earth to see this movie. I'm not usually a fan of remakes, but this movie was A-W-E-S-O-M-E! It had so much heart and soul...and genuinely good acting! The best part was watching Jaden Smith, he has so many of his dad's charms and mannerisms.

We just saw Karate Kid a couple of weeks ago and I agree, it is a great movie!
It was an awesome movie. I loved that Taraji was cast as the mother. She's a great actress.
Hugs and Mocha,

It is a great movie. I was happy that they didn't ruin a great childhood memory...
My son and I finally watched that movie a few months ago.
First.
I am a huge fan of the originals. I spent 5 years of my life studying martial arts and earning my black belt because of those movies.
So I was wary of the remake.
Second.
I thought they did a great job on the remake. I like that the boy was younger because my son connected with him more. The actors did a great job and they changed it up just enough.
As for Japan...the pictures of the kids are breaking my heart.
Three cheers for all those who are trying to help the suffering in this tragedy.
I can't wait to see this version of the Karate Kid. I heard that Jaden Smith was amazing. Both Will and Jada's kids are going to be superstars I think.
I still haven't seen the movie so you are definately not the last one lol. Its on my list of things to do tho :)
you not the last person....still haven't seen it *hangs head in shame and walks away*
My link wasn't specifically a link to a post about what I'm loving, but it was a post including what I'm loving! Hope that's all right!
It's always a good day when you see someone acting on compassion! And you are not the last person to see the Karate Kid. I wonder if it's too violent to show my son. But then, he's not interested in anything that isn't animated. I wonder about this pinkett-smith kids with these big careers.
We seem to be willing to help even in our often horrible state! Karate kid was the best! My kids loved it & it was a great msg to learn from it.
