Baby Log: 1 Year and 45 Weeks Old

It's scorching here in Dallas. Every time we go outside Marlie says, "it's hot!" Poor baby. She is tired of being cooped up indoors, but it's too hot to enjoy outdoor activities. Believe me, we try. I took her to the dowtown farmer's market on Thursday. They have an indoor marketplace where we walked around and then enjoyed some mango gelato. We went back on Friday for more gelato!
Staying home and watching Yo Gabba Gabba until I feel like I am going to slip into a Gabba coma is not my idea of summertime fun. I am running out of things to do while we stay cool. Feel free to pitch me ideas!
Other interesting things: Marlie took a sip of her daddy's beer last Sunday right in front of him. He is so used to sharing his beverages with her that he didn't stop her when she picked up the bottle and took a swig. She had already swallowed it before he remembered it was beer (smh). The good news is that she did not like the taste and didn't want anymore.
Lots of bumps and cuts this week. First, Marlie skinned her knee (then proceeded to pick off the scab!). Then she bit her lip really bad (then proceeded to pick off that scab!).She is so gross. :-)
I was just complaining that I haven't had any luck winning giveaways lately. Then I find out that I won a month's supply of popchips in a giveaway over at Determined to Be Fit. Ask and ye shall receive!

I don't know how you guys deal with the heat there, I would be miserable! I'm such a cranky mess when I'm hot.
LOL! Beer for Marlie ;-) Also, congrats on the Pop Chips!
Any indoor pools or playgrounds around? How about play groups at someones house? Just brain storming here lol
Daddy! Don't let baby sip your beer! Lol she might never wanna share a drink with him again lol
Slide me a bag of those pop chips!
Sorry to hear it is so hot there! I wish I had some ideas, but the hot summers was part of why we left San Diego. We didn't even have AC then, so my kids always would get heat rash. It could be pretty miserable.
a while ago Quinn took a sip from a beer my mom THOUGHT she had in a place he couldn't get to....he also did not like the taste..but he kept insisting he was "cool" and could drive his little motorized 4 wheeler...
I'm giggling thinking of Marlie taking a swig! LOL
Naveen is constantly grabbing beer bottles(that makes it sound like we just party around here). But he is the same way. I've often just given up and let him play with an empty beer bottle.
It's hard with this heat. It's just like if it were snowing. I always set up things like play dough or blocks or colouring. It doesn't last very long. We've also gone on treasure hunts around the house but it's a lot of work on my end:(
