That's what I have been thinking about all week. Also...
- Why does Marlie have no problem saying words like strawberry, supermarket, peacock, monkey, and butterfly but she can't say open?
- Why does she think it's cute to run into the street the second I am distracted? We have multiple conversations about the road being dangerous because cars hit people and it hurts. She repeats what I say, but then takes off toward the street if I blink. I used to give crazy looks to parents who tethered their kids with leashes, but now I am seriously thinking of getting one. I'd rather get side-eye than have my child hit by a car.
- What is with waking up cranky from naptime? She has been like this all week, just sulky and very unpleasant. Don't touch her, speak to her, or make any sudden moves. She'll have a fit. It must be nice to get a nap in the middle of the day. I wouldn't be so pissy if I was you little miss.
- How much light and love you have brought into our lives. Even when you are being difficult (which is more than half the time these days), I am having the time of my life with you.

In regards to language, is she just not saying "open" or is he physically not able to to say it? If it is the first, it might because kids tend to learn nouns first. I have to laugh at the leash bit. You'd think after raising my first four kids, I'd know what I was doing, but Dora did/does the same type of crap. One of her favorite things used to be to run away and hide in large stores like Target. I almost got a leash for her, and yes I have often thought badly of people who did that. I didn't end up needing it, but I will never think anything negative about a parent with a child on a leash. In fact, if someone criticized a parent for it, I'd tell that person off for the parent!
I was sitting in my college psychology class on 9/11. I couldn't believe what we were watching.
What's with "open"? Lol Her buddy says it all the time. As you know she says every freaking thing! (Make her stop!)
I know all about the cranky after nap times. Just ugh!
Oh and I understand the leashes now. I don't know if I would use one but I so get it now that I have a child.
I can only imagine how parents felt the day those events happened. My thoughts are also with you as Marlie goes through her terrible/terrific twos! Have a great weekend!
Ah yes. The many moods of a toddler.
LOL
Abby has finally gotten better about the street. She still forgets sometimes and starts to bolt if she sees something or we are heading across the street, but overall she knows and doesn't intentionally run towards it.
The Babby is the same way post naptime, all crabby like she hasn't slept at all. I find that having her take a big drink after she wakes up helps... no clue why, but I know I wake up pretty thirsty!
I'm glad you can see the sunshine on those cloudy days, but I'm with you. What a stinker to wake up from something so delightful as a nap and still have the nerve to be grumpy!
I remember that day. It was so unreal.
We have to tell my daughter that.too. she seems to listen.
Just stopping by. Hope all is well.
I know what you mean about those kid leashes! And Deaglan has never once awoken from a nap and been pleasant. I just want to run when he wakes. Naveen on the other hand, nice as can be.
I wasn't a mother on 9/11 either. I have so many feelings about that day too. At the time my sister and niece were already living in the states, and my niece who is of bangladeshi and white american background was in high school at the time and the kids were so mean, constantly calling her a terrorist because she looked arabic. It was such a terrible, terrible event on so many levels.
