Desmond is 18 months and he shows zero interest in potty training. I know boys don't reach this milestone as quickly as girls, so I don't expect him to be out of diapers by age 2. But the boy won't even communicate that he has eliminated. He doesn't pat his bottom and say poo-poo. He doesn't even walk funny as if it bothers him. He just continues to eat, play or whatever until I sniff him from across the room (I have a bloodhound's nose).
Which leads me to my original statement. I am so over poop. More specifically, I am tired of smelling poop. I once read an article that said the smell of poop is actually tiny molecules of fecal matter reaching your olfactory receptors. Double Ew. I freaked myself out thinking about nano particles of poop trapped in my nose hairs. That article seriously disturbed me.

I wish I had some advice. Maybe it is harder to deal with having a girl first since they tend to potty train earlier. I had no expectations. Lewis didn't train until 2.5 or so and it was pretty easy because he was ready. That and the "Potty Whisperer" teacher at daycare really handled the heavy lifting. :)
I cannot wait until the day when I don't have to wipe anyone's butt or be involved with anyone's poop but my own!
Ughhh I remember Nia taking her diaper off about that age. I'm not here for the poop either. We had one huge smearing accident in the crib, and I just about passed out. God knew I could only take one incident of that! "Lawd take the case!" is spot on. We just kept the little potty where Nia could see it and eventually she just expressed interest. Good luck!
LOL Poop stinks. My son was so funny when it came to potty training. He would do #1 with no problem, but when it came to #2 he would go hide.
I've read something like that too--which is why I don't keep my toothbrush in the bathroom anymore. Just eew.
i have no good advice...we've started already at 14months and i hope that helps him along the way. my son loves applause so he gets all excited when we clap for him. maybe finding something that he loves to coax and encourage him!! good luck!
